Project Description:
The Government of Zambia has embarked on an intensive Rural Electrification Authority Programme. Bicon Zambia Limited was appointed to provide consultancy services for the construction design and supervision of the Grid Extension Projects under the 2013 Rural Electrification Program
The main purpose of the projects was as follows:
- Provide electrical connections as economical as possible to rural communities Via 33Kv, 11kV and 400V distribution lines.
- Provide electrical power to rural businesses and small industries to stimulate development.
- Provide electrical power to rural government installations and buildings. Amongst these are schools, police stations, agricultural centres, office buildings, clinics and staff houses etc.
