Rehabilitation of road T1 section between Turnpike – Chikankata Turn-off (38.5Km)

Project Description:

The road rehabilitation works consisted of widening the existing road formation to allow for cross section geometry of 2 x 3.4m lanes and 2 x 1.5m surfaced shoulders with 0.5m outer shoulder strips. The reconstructed road was surfaced using asphalt concrete. Only minor modifications to the vertical and horizontal alignments were carried out for the project. The rehabilitation works carried out on the project included the following;

  • Stabilization and Milling Works
  • Pavement Construction of Stone Base, Cement Stabilized Lower and Upper Sub-base
  • Rigid Pavement Construction Works
  • Asphalt Concrete Surfacing
