Project Description:
The upgrading of the road requires the road sections to be widened to 8.5m from the existing 5.5m. The newly constructed road formation shall have geometrical cross sections of 2 x 3.25m lanes and 2 x 1m shoulders. The sub-base of the road will be unstabilised gravel compacted to 95%. The road base shall be of crushed stone base compacted to 102%. The road surface will be done with a 40mm asphalt concrete layer.
Only a few sections shall have their vertical and horizontal alignments modified because it is important to keep the existing alignments as much as possible in order to avoid unnecessary costs such as resettlement or compensation of affected persons or parties.
